Jill S. Rucci, Founder and Artistic Director

Jill S. Rucci is Founder, and Director of 8&1 Dance Company Dallas which is in its 10th Season of Success. Ms. Rucci originally from the Boston Area moved to NYC to pursue her dreams. She was a principal dancer and guest choreographer for Vissi Dance Theater for over 10 years. Jill has trained, taught, performed and presented her choreography in many cities including
Boston, Los Angeles, Dallas, New York and Olbia, Italy.

Rucci is proud to create original productions; “Exchange Street”, “Heart and Soul”, “Rejected”, “Control”, and “In the
Spirit,” just to mention a few. Rucci was recognized by THEATER JONES as The “Heavy Weight in Dallas”, producing shows that
“EVERYONE MUST SEE”.

Jill received her Dance Degree from Dean College and continued her education in NY at Alvin Ailey, Steps, Broadway Dance Center, and The Millennium and Edge in Los Angeles. While in NY, Jill also performed with Bare Bones Dance Co., she performed and choreographed for New Jersey Squires ABA and was a West African-stylized dancer with Magna BA Drum and Dance Co.
Ms. Rucci danced with Contemporary Ballet Dallas and was honored as a Guest Choreographer for the Company. She is currently the resident Choreographer for JWU and has accepted many guest artist positions as Adjunct Faculty for major Universities. Jill expanded her Company to the East coast in 2019. Ruccis’ mission was to create a professional space for Artists to call home.

Now, in 2021 her dreams have become a reality through diligent work, determination and focus. Following 20+ years of professional experience, she is focused on the next generation, with 8&1 Studios being the portal for success. They have a mission to Inspire, Mentor, and Educate Artists. Rucci is ecstatic to share her passion and resources for her Students and Professionals, and looks forward to many more successful and inspirational feats
